Ask and you Shall Receive

“Everything comes to us that belongs to us if we create the capacity to receive it.”
– Rabindranth Tagore
Even as I write it, I feel as though I should read it again. Although an easy concept to grasp, it’s not as easy to really apply to your own life.
I quit my job about 3 weeks ago. Although it was a career I was able to find good in, it was not my true calling. How do I know this? After working in the field for 5 years, and only having been “unemployed” for a matter of weeks…I never think about it. Why? Because in these past three weeks I have let more of what I truly love come into my life than I have in a long time. And as a result, it just keeps filling up.
So much of our lives are full without us even knowing it. The majority of your daylight is spent in a cubicle under fluorescent lighting. Your mornings, full of getting kids ready for school or managing your appointments. Your evenings, cooking dinner and attempting to maintain a healthy relationship and sleep pattern. Our days and our lives are busy. I get it. But when was the last time you looked at your life in pieces like that? When was the last time you thought about where you were putting the majority of your energy?
This morning I baked quiche and muffins. Then I went to lunch and met an interesting human being, and we had a good conversation about life. I enjoyed a delicious burger for dinner with our closest friends and I’m now going to enjoy the comfort of my home and my husband without a worry of what tomorrow will bring. Because I know when I go to sleep happy and I wake up happy, it can bring nothing but good. None of this would have happened if I didn’t create the space.
